Calgary-based formulator Yoyin Familusi is dedicated to honoring her African heritage and mother’s legacy through simple and effective skincare solutions for all skin tones.

As a child, Yoyin struggled with skin irritations caused by food allergies. Frustrated by the ineffectiveness of over-the-counter steroids, her mother turned to traditional African ingredients, crafting body butters, oils, and soaps that healed her daughter’s skin. This experience instilled in Yoyin a deep appreciation for the power of natural herbs, oils, and clays indigenous to Africa in treating skin blemishes and promoting healthy skin.

When Yoyin became a mother herself, she was inspired to create skincare products for her daughter, just as her mother had done for her. From this, Sewa Skincare was born.
